Our journey
UpNorth Spain is a project created by Dani and Marta, a couple passionate about travel who’ve explored the world from top to bottom in search of adventure.
From the fjords of New Zealand to the jungles of Colombia, they’ve experienced it all. They lived, worked and played in Australia, France, and Canada. They’ve hitchhiked through Patagonia, rambled about life and love over margaritas in Chiapas, swum with sea lions in southern Australia, and camped on the snow-covered peaks of the Peruvian Andes. And they write about it all on their travel blog.
After every incredible journey, they kept being amazed by how the underrated beauty of Northern Spain continued to struck them. It was time to shine a spotlight on what they have right at home: a region blessed with stunning landscapes, a fascinating cultural heritage, and one of the most renowned and delicious cuisines in the world.

About Us
Dani
An insatiable traveler and a bit of a map nerd, Dani built his professional career dreaming about how beautiful life would be if he devoted himself to his true passion: traveling.
After much soul-searching (and map-folding), he decided it was time to spill the beans about the best-kept secret: the north of Spain. But don’t ask him what his favorite place is… he’ll talk your ear off like an old man at the park, and before you know it, you’ll be booking the flight.
Marta
Marta is an advertiser and designer by trade, a content creator by profession, and a writer at heart.
For a long time, she held positions with fancy titles in exchange for a salary and a mug with her name on it. Today, she has plenty of mugs, a smaller salary, and a smile that’s too big for her face.
